2021-22 SLEQ-UG KEY FINDINGS
HKU conducts annual institutional surveys on undergraduate students’ learning experiences (SLEQ-UG). The survey findings offer evidence-based insights into teaching and learning quality assurance and enhancement. All undergraduate students in their first, second, and final years of studies are invited to participate in SLEQ-UG. In 2021-22, a total of 5656 undergraduate students (nUG1 = 1860, nUG2 = 1799, nUGF = 1997) completed SLEQ-UG.
Highlights
- Student perceptions of Attainment of University Educational Aims, Teaching and Learning Environment, and Overall Satisfaction have been steadily positive across the years (Figure 1).
- Gains in Attainment of University Educational Aims were evident from longitudinal tracking of students who participated in SLEQ-UG in their first and final years (Figure 2).
- Final-year respondents continued to rate positively on the scales of Internationalisation, Interdisciplinarity, and Innovation with over 75% percent agreement.
Frequently mentioned as best aspects of the University experience were “friend”, “learn”, and “opportunity” (Figures 3a-3c).
Detailed results at the institutional, Faculty, and curriculum levels are made available to Faculties to facilitate review and development of their teaching and learning. Please refer to the information here.
